In Pasadena, California, June 5th 2010 marked the inaugural California Classic Motorcycle Auction. The event came together in grand style at the Pasadena Convention Center and was hosted by Bator International. Event founder Glenn Bator says "this is just the beginning, we will be back again next year and expect our California event to continue to grow in both volume and popularity.
More than 50 motorcycles were sold at the auction, including the highlight of the event, the sale of a 1939 Brough Superior SS100 which was the last of the type ever produced and sold for $220,000.
Other noteworthy bike sales included a 1940 Indian Chief California Highway Patrol Bike with everything included right down to the uniform, selling for $32,000; a 1948 Harley Davidson EL with sidecar in mint condition that sold for $30,800; a 1953 Harley Davidson Panhead that sold for $24,200 and two military bikes that went for $22,000 each, a WWI 1919 Harley Davidson and a 1942 Harley Davidson WLC, complete with its original military issue tea cup.
