AUCTION BEGINS AT 2:00 P.M. ON SATURDAY, OCTOBER 9, 2010

AUCTION SELLING  There are two ways to sell your motorcycle: unreserved or reserved. An unreserved motorcycle sells to the highest bidder. A sliding scale commission is charged based on the sale price of the bike. (Note:  The minimum commission fee is $200, therefore, if your motorcycle sells for less than $2,000 your commission fee will be a flat fee of $200).  The Consignment fee for No Reserve entries is $150 and is refundable upon the sale of your motorcycle.  On a reserve motorcycle, the consignment fee is $150 if received by September 10, 2010, and $200 per entry thereafter and is non refundable.  You set the minimum selling price (you do have the right to change your mind on the floor and accept the highest bid, but if you registered the bike as a reserve entry, your consignment fee is not refundable even if you drop your reserve price on the block).  We reserve the right to refuse consignments with unreasonable reserves or motorcycles deemed not suitable for the auction.  Please note that for motorcycles selling with titles, the VIN or motor numbers on the bike must match the numbers on the title.  All VIN numbers will be checked prior to entry into the auction facility, so please know where your numbers are on the bike and make sure they match the numbers on your title.  Either the engine or frame number on the motorcycle must match the number on the title.  Please note that it will speed up your check in time if you mark the location of your numbers on the motorcycle with a piece of masking tape so our staff can find it quickly.  Click here to view our seller's sliding commission scale and to enter your bike on line. Consignments will be accepted at the auction facility on Wednesday, October 6th, Thursday, October 7th and Friday, October 8th, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.   Preview day is Friday, so please make every effort to have your bike(s) to the auction site by Thursday afternoon.

TIPS FOR SELLING  Consign your motorcycle early so we can have the maximum amount of time to advertise it for you and get people excited about it.  Entries received by August 15th will appear in our auction catalog, plus, if you are entering your bike with a Reserve on it, you can save $50 on the Consignment Fee by entering it before August 15th.  You can enter your motorcycle on line or mail us the form along with the photos and we will put the images on the auction website for you.  Send us a photo or two using a neutral background—like a white garage door.   Give us as much information about your bike as possible i.e., does the bike run now? Did the bike run when you parked it years ago?—and so on. If you have any questions about the consignment process, we are available by phone or email to assist you in any way we can, so please do not hesitate to contact us.   Bring your bike to the auction facility as early as possible, as buyers will be inspecting the motorcycles they want to consider buying.

SELLERS CONSIDER THIS  The Barber Vintage Festival Auction is a first class international event with buyers coming from all over the world as well as international on line biddingConsider registering your bike unreserved. We will attach a large  NO RESERVE headlight card on your motorcycle—this lets the buyers know that your bike is selling to the highest bidder.  Unreserved bikes always draw more interest and more bids. If we receive your consignment before August 15th, we will be able to advertise your bike in our catalog as selling unreserved—attracting more buyers.

TITLES  You must have a good, transferable title in your name, unless you are a dealer or have a notarized power of attorney from the person who's name is on the title.  Example:  If you have a title that is in the name of "Fred Smith", in order to sell the motorcycle, you must either be Fred Smith or have a notarized power of attorney from Fred Smith giving you authorization to sell his bike.  NOTE! Once the bike sells at auction, the check for payment will be made out in Fred Smith's name. If your state does not title older motorcycles, then a registration in your name will serve as a title.  The exceptions to this are vehicles that are considered off-road, road racers, bikes not intended for highway use, antique or classic motorcycles not originally registered or titled or restoration projects sold as parts.  If you prefer to sell the motorcycle with a title, you can contact  Vehicle Registration Service (Diann) at 626-484-6361, International Title Service at 800-543-8626 or Broadway Title Company at 800-464-3222.  Bator International, Inc. is in no way affiliated with any of these title services and this information is given as a courtesy only.  We cannot accept motorcycles with altered serial numbers.  If you are not sure about the status of your motorcycle, please contact our office, and we will be glad to assist you.  All VIN numbers will be checked at the door and must match the numbers on the title, registration or bill of sale to be eligible for the auction.

SELL YOUR BIKE WITHOUT LEAVING HOME  We have made arrangements with Federal Companies Motorcycle Transportation Services to have your motorcycle picked up at your door —anywhere in the country. If If the bike is going to sell with "no reserve" the freight will be billed to us, and we will deduct it from your settlement after the vehicle is sold. If your motorcycle has a reserve that is not met, you will be responsible for all shipping charges incurred to and from the auction.  We think the rates are reasonable—just call our office to make arrangements: (805) 646-9566.

AUCTION BUYING  You must register and get a "bidder's number" in order to buy at the auction sale. You will be required to leave a $300 deposit. The deposit is refundable within 45 minutes of when you turn your bidder number back in at the office if you do not win any bids. There will be a buyer's premium of 13% added to the hammer price.  A 3% discount will be given for payments made in cash,  cashiers checks, wire transfers or **pre-approved** personal or company checks (please call or email our office for check approval form). Minimum buyer's premium is $200 per motorcycle.  Payment in full is due on the day of the sale. Acceptable methods of payment are cash, bank checks, Traveler's Checks, cashier's checks, wire transfers or "pre-approved" (meaning in advance of auction day) personal or business checks accompanied with a verified dated irrevocable bank letter of guarantee for the amount of the check written. The letter must be currently dated and include the account number to be used and the amount of funds to be covered by the guarantee (CLICK HERE for a Sample Bank Letter of Guarantee).  Mastercard, Visa and Discover credit cards are also acceptable for payment.   Purchases may be picked up on Saturday after the auction or Sunday until 3:00 p.m.  Please note all items must be removed from the auction facility no later than 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 10.  If you are a dealer or work with a dealer, be sure to bring a copy of the dealer's license and tax resale certificate to the office upon check out.

SHIPPING  Motorcycles may be shipped anywhere in the continental United States.  The costs are very reasonable—you can fly in, purchase a bike and fly home without worry.  Representatives from the trucking company will be at the event.
